The Pink Heals “Cares Enough to Wear Pink” tour will come Thursday, Aug. 26, to NIU-Rockford, 8500 E. State St. The event begins at 1 p.m.
Members of the Rockford fire and police departments invite the community to join them in showing support for all women in their fight against all cancers.
Pink fire trucks will begin arriving in downtown Rockford in the early afternoon for a procession to NIU-Rockford. Cancer survivors, and family members of those who have lost their courageous battles with cancer, are encouraged to sign the pink fire trucks.
T-shirts are available for $10 to wear at the event; shirts are on sale at the Rockford Fire Department headquarters at 204 S. First St. and the Rockford Police Department’s Community Services Unit at 420 W. State St.
